I’m on pediatric infectious disease consults right now. The hours are horrible but I really like talking about bacteria, fungi, viruses and antibiotics! It’s so fun. I like the part of medicine that involves thinking about things and figuring stuff out. I’m not an intensive care person at all…I hate having to act right away! It scares me to have to place tubes, lines, and make emergent holes in people. I don’t get a rush from it. I just freeze and think “somebody help them!” Emergency is not for me. I like to talk about things and come up with possible answers. Neurology is a great fit for me! And so is infectious diseases, who knew?! On Monday we are going to talk about encephalitis! A great unity of brain + bugs!
